Just One More Rainbow

On my birthday this year, I had received some very… unique gifts.

I shared these gifts with you in a previous post titled, "A fire, a cloud and a rainbow." http://patipakulis.blogspot.com/2008/07/fire-cloud-and-rainbow.html

In July, on our way home from Carlsbad, California—I continued seeing rainbows. I saw at least 3 different rainbows on the drive home—which seemed so out of the ordinary.

The following weekend, I was up at Juniper Ranch on a family reunion, and I saw this rainbow.

So many rainbows.

I kept wondering why I was seeing so many. And I just kept thinking about God—and how I feel like His promise for our family, that He has asked me to believe, is that Peter would have LIFE--- and… life more abundant.

Then the news came, this sinus condition that my husband has been dealing with—is a tumor… that is very serious.

On Sunday morning, August 3rd…. I got on my knees and asked God a few questions.

Has the plan changed? Am I to prepare for something other than Life? What about all these rainbows that I have been seeing?

So, I put my faith out there and just asked God, “If I am to continue to believe for Life for my husband, can you please show me another rainbow?” Then I closed my little prayer with …” I’ll be looking to the sky”

At that moment I felt like God’s response to me was— "just look everywhere."

Then that morning, I went to church. The first thing I noticed was the picture on the big screen. It looked Rainbow-ish! So I had a small conversation with my son that sort of went like this

ME: Colin, is that a rainbow?
COLIN: ………Naw
MOM: Bud, doesn’t that look like a rainbow?
COLIN: No mom, it’s a sunburst.

So, disappointed, I let it go. After our time of worship there was a slideshow. A team had just returned from a mission trip to Cambodia. It was a beautiful slideshow. They faces of these Cambodian children were just precious….

Then, the slide show ended. And on the very last photo…. there was the picture of a beautiful RAINBOW.

A rainbow from halfway across the world!

My heart jumped-- and I just began to cry... I knew my answer. That I am to continue to believe for Life... no matter what!

So today, I wanted to share my rainbow --from Cambodia -- with you:
